Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore and Mackinac Island
We traveled to the Sleeping Bear Park yesterday and saw large sand dunes. Today we went on the ferry to Mackinac Island in Lake Huron. Tonight we are staying on the island. It's very quaint with only horse and carriages and bicycles for transportation.

Traverse City, Michigan
We've seen lots of sites since we arrived, and tomorrow we are heading to some more. Our place is across the street from Lakke Michigan and is beautiful. The town itself is spread out, with an old town, downtown, and an area that once was a mental institution called the Mercato. We droove out to the lighthouse at the end of the peninsula, and passed many orchards and vineyards on the way. We ate lunch at a locals grill... and watched curling on the tv! There's an old mission (Presbyterian) on the peninsula.
The weather started out rainy, but later was just plain cold!!
