Harper’s Ferry was full of historic significance.
Though it rained on and off throughout our time in Harper's Ferry, we were undaunted. Jim bought a straw hat, and I purchased a $1 poncho! We are quite the lookers. Harper's Ferry was a site of iron forging way back then... and also at a wonderful location at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. That's why Merriweather Lewis came here to outfit himself for his westward journey. Lots of artifacts show how he constructed his canoes with iron rims. Also, John Brown, an ardent abolishionist, led his insurrection here as he attempted to take over the armory of thousands of weapons. We visited the many sites here and also enjoyed a really nice walk and lunch at The Rabbit Hole!

Looks like a great trip
So glad you are seeing the beauty and history around this part of the country. Were you near the C&O canal while along the Potomac? Love it up there.
You two know how to vacation!
