Last day in Quebec

Really loved this area.  Heading to Adirondack Mountains tomorrow.  Beautiful colors here, though they’re hard to capture on camera.  Went to Anglican Church Service today.  It was not nearly as beautiful as Evensong services in England.  We also saw fortresses and battle fields for battle between English and French.  Beautiful walk along waterfront.  All in all a great day.

Beautiful Quebec!

Today we’re heading out to see the country

Yesterday we saw Old Quebec City.  Very pretty.  It’s raining lightly, so it’s good we did that yesterday.  Our host, Patrice, brings us hot scones every morning!

Quebec

We are tired!  We made it!  We’ve had beautiful weather every day except for  the day we drove to New Hampshire...and heavy rain some nights.

We took bus into old town Quebec... but had to walk most of the way back!  It’s a long story😮😐!

Tomorrow morning we have a tour of the old city.  Leaves are beautiful here, and we’re also very vibrant in Vermont!  Here’s some photos from sun-up to sun-down!

Providence, RI

Yesterday we enjoyed just relaxing in this beautiful village.  We walked across the street to the port side restaurant and enjoyed brunch.  We shopped at a local market with really great produce and very reasonable prices.  We filled up the gas tank with inexpensive gas....  Then we headed to Providence, the state’s capital, which is just a jaunt away.  The town itself was founded by Roger Williams who came to the area seeking religious freedom for believers of the baptist variety.  Many beautiful churches of every persuasion.  It was very much a college town.  We drove through the Brown University campus in the center of town.  We are so enjoying our stay here!  Tomorrow the rain will come to the northeast.... and we will be heading to New Hampshire.

House we’re staying in

We made it!

It was quite a trek to get to Rhode Island.  It was only a 4 1/2 hour flight on Jet Blue (we love that airline!!) to get here.  We arrived in JFK at 7:30 in the morning and then rented our truck for the trip.  We took mostly freeways to get here... which we don’t usually do.  The area here is absolutely gorgeous.  Lots of beautiful waterfront areas.  Wickford Village where we are staying is an historic little town.  We love it.  Our place was the home of the governor of the state in 1883.  We inhabit the first floor.
