Memories of Alaska!!!! Katmai National Park on August 30, 2022!!

Today, August 29th, we travelled from Seward to Homer via Cooper Landing and Soldotna. We visited our old friends, Dan and Juli Sexton, in Soldotna. Our home here in Homer is wonderful. Beautiful view and fantastic in every way.

We had a great time in Seward. Visited the Alaska Wildlife Refuge and Alyska Resort yesterday, finishing off with a meal at Ray’s Seafood on the pier.

On August 27th we had our first full day in Alaska. We took a cruise to the Kenai Fjords National Park!

Alaska is our 49th state!! It became a state when we were 12 years old!!

North to Alaska

We are heading to Alaska tomorrow, August 25, 2022. This is a trip we've wanted to take for quite some time. I guess we could call it a "bucket list" trip! First stop on our trip is a flight to Seattle, and then on to Anchorage. In Anchorage, we're picking up a Toyota Tacoma pickup to drive on our trip. We're renting it from a private party from a website company called Turo. Then we are driving to our first place we are staying. It is the town of Seward on the northeast side of the Kenai Peninsula. We rented a small VRBO there that is located right in town. While we are there, we are going on a boat cruise to view the Kenai Fiiords National Park.
